Earth Day – Bottled Water is Green!

April 22, 2012 will mark the 42nd annual Earth Day event celebrated all over the world. Started by Senator Gaylord Nelson, in 1970, as an environmental protest to call attention to increased pollution, wildlife endangerment & disregard for natural resources.

Locally, on Earth Day, we celebrate environmental education and “green” practices. Here at Crystal Clear Water, we practice cardboard and bottle recycling, we recycle bottles that consumers return to us for recycling & we promote education of how many small package bottles can stay out of our landfills by using 5-gallon bottles in their place.

We have estimated that one 5-gallon re-usable Crystal Clear Water will save you almost 2,000 small bottles that hold 16.9 ounces of water. One 5-gallon Crystal Clear bottle can be reused, on average, for five years, being re-filled ten times a year. Knowing this, if you wanted to drink 68 ounces of water per day, which is below the recommended average, which is only four bottles of 16.9 ounces per day. That adds up to 28 bottles in a week & 120 bottles a month. This equals a little over three 5-gallon bottles in a month. That is over 1,400 bottles a year you have kept out of our landfill’s. Furthermore, after the bottles have been exhausted, Crystal Clear recycles them! That is a lot of waste of our natural resources and landfill space!

What a major “green” effort everyone could take if they chose Crystal Clear 5-gallons for their water needs. Go GREEN with Crystal Clear Water 5-gallons, your body and carbon footprint will love you for it!

Until next time at ‘The Water Blog’!!!
